Back to School
The back to school sales tax holiday will begin on Monday, July 25, 2022 and end on Sunday, August 7, 2022. During the sales tax holiday period, tax is not due on the retail sale of:
- Clothing, footwear, and certain accessories with a sales price of $100 or less per item
- Certain school supplies with a sales price of $50 or less per item
- Learning aids and jigsaw puzzles with a sales price of $30 or less
- Personal computers and certain computer-related accessories with a sales price of $1500 or less, when purchased for noncommercial home or personal use

Children's Diapers and Baby and Toddler Clothing, Apparel, and Shoes
Florida's first sales tax exemption period on children's diapers and baby toddler clothing, apparel, and shoes begins Friday, July 1, 2022 and ends Friday, June 30, 2023. During this sales tax exemption period, tax is not due on the retail sale of children's diapers or on baby and toddler clothing, apparel, and shoes primarily intended for children age 5 or younger.
Clothing and apparel means any article of clothing or wearing apparel intended to be worn on or about the human body. Children's diapers include single-use and reusable diapers, including those used for toilet training, and diaper inserts.

Energy Star Appliances
Florida's sales tax exemption period on new ENERGY STAR appliances for noncommercial use begins Friday, July 1, 2022 and ends Friday, June 30, 2023. During this sales tax exemption period, tax is not due on the retail sale of eligible new ENERGY STAR appliances and purchased for noncommercial use. The rental of eligible new ENERGY STAR appliances does not qualify for the exemption.
ENERGY STAR appliances means one of the listed products below if designated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the United States Department of Energy as meeting or exceeding each agency's requirements under the ENERGY STAR program and is affixed with a label. The sales tax exemption does not apply when the new ENERGY STAR appliances is purchased for trade, business, or resale.
Eligible items:
- Clothes dryers selling for $1500 or less
- Refrigerators or combination refrigerators/freezers selling for $3000 or less
- Washing machines selling for $1500 or less
- Water heaters selling for $1500 or less

Freedom Week
This sales tax holiday begins on Friday, July 1, 2022 and ends on Thursday, July 7, 2022. During this sales tax holiday period, tax is not due on the retail sale or admissions to music events, sporting events, cultural events, specified performances, movies, museums, state parks, and fitness facilities. Also exempt from sales tax during this holiday period are eligible boating and water activity supplies, camping supplies, fishing supplies, general outdoor supplies, residential pool supplies, and sporting equipment.
The sales tax holiday does not apply to:
- Rentals of any eligible items
- Sales within a theme park, entertainment complex, public lodging establishment or airport

Impact-Resistant Doors, Garage Doors, and Windows
A temporary sales tax exemption period on impact-resistant doors, impact resistant garage doors, and impact-resistant windows begins on July 1, 2022 and ends June 30, 2024. During this sales tax exemption period, tax is not due on the retail sales of impact-resistant doors, impact-resistant garage doors, and impact-resistant windows for commercial or noncommercial use.
